ABOUT US

We are a family owned and operated dance studio located in the south shore's Kingston Collection, and we pride ourselves on offering affordable youth dance classes.  We opened our doors in 2010 and since have created a warm and welcoming environment for everyone, regardless of skill level or experience.

Our goal is to create an inclusive family atmosphere for all of our students. From ballet and jazz to hip-hop and contemporary, we offer a wide range of classes to choose from. We believe in the power of dance to bring people together, and we strive to create a safe and supportive space for everyone to grow.

Why choose Open Space for your child's classes? Here are a few reasons:

Expert Instruction

Our highly trained and experienced dance instructors specialize in working with young children, ensuring that your little one receives the best guidance and instruction in a fun and supportive environment. They possess the patience, energy, and enthusiasm to engage and inspire our youngest dancers.

Helps Build Confidence & Social Skills

Our classes provide a nurturing and inclusive environment where children can gain confidence, build self-esteem, and develop essential social skills. By working collaboratively, making new friends, and performing in front of others, your child will develop valuable life skills that extend far beyond the dance floor.

Creative Curriculum

We've designed a carefully crafted curriculum that combines elements of ballet, jazz, and creative movement, perfectly tailored to the abilities and attention spans of children ages 18 months to 18 years old! Through imaginative storytelling, playful exercises, and interactive games, we make learning dance a delightful and engaging experience.

Fun & Positive Environment

We believe that learning should be fun! Our classes are designed to be enjoyable and age-appropriate, allowing children to explore their natural love for movement while fostering a lifelong appreciation for the arts. Your child will look forward to each class, eagerly anticipating the next adventure on their dance journey.

Developmental Benefits

Dance classes at a young age can have a profound impact on a child's overall development. Our classes promote physical fitness, coordination, and motor skills, helping children develop strength, flexibility, and spatial awareness. Dance also encourages cognitive development, rhythm, musicality, and a sense of discipline, all while fostering creativity and self-expression.

Performance Exposure

We celebrate the progress and achievements of our young dancers with exciting recital opportunities. These special performances provide a platform for your child to showcase their newfound skills and shine like a star in front of family and friends, boosting their confidence and providing them with cherished memories.

In September of 2022, our staff took on an enormous undertaking: transforming an abandoned and dusty old "Build-a-Bear" retail storefront into not one, but two bright, inviting dance studios complete with office space, a workshop area, dressing rooms, merchandise displays and a family waiting area!
